Keep an Eye on the Time
HintsIn Boulder Dash Deluxe you have to get around the map, collect the gold and keep away from any enemies that may be after you. To put the cherry on top, you have to do this all within the given time limit. While you are moving around and trying to figure out how to get all of the gold without getting caught, always keep an eye on your timer to ensure that you have enough time left. While you might have the opportunity to try the level again, it's always best to try to finish it the first time to get all the rewards you can.
Rocks Can Save Your Life
HintsIf you are new to playing Boulder Dash Deluxe, you need to know that rocks can be a lifesaver. Think of Boulder Dash Deluxe as a version of Pac man, as you run around these little monster things chase you. The difference between Boulder Dash Deluxe to Pac Man is that you create the pathways that allow the monsters to come after you. As you move through the map, you dig and create a tunnel.
A bonus to doing this though is that you can also set yourself up to succeed. Within the map, there are loose boulders that drop if you run under them. If they fall on you or a monster they will kill them. To protect yourself you can position your pathways around using these boulders in case you have a monster on your tail.
Plan Your Route
HintsPlanning your route is always important. The goal of each level is to collect all of the gold within the time limit and without being caught by the monsters. Planning your route around where the gold is, where the boulders are, and where the exit is will really help you move faster through the levels and maximize the rewards you get. Knowing your environment is also vital. Every level comes with new challenges. The quicker you familiarize yourself with planning a route the easier it will become when you are faced with more difficult levels.
Try to Collect All the Gold
HintsIn Boulder Dash Deluxe your goal is always to try and complete the level and earn as much gold as you can. The more gold you collect, the quicker you get your three stars and the greater reward you can get. Even if the exit door is already open, always try to collect all of the gold on the map before leaving.
Practice Practice Practice
HintsIt's often tempting for people who fly through the first few levels to continue doing so until they get to a more difficult one. But a change of perspective here will make facing those difficult levels much easier. Instead of flying through the easy levels take your time to get to know the game. Learn the patterns that enemies move in and practice moving boulders around to see what you can do with them. This will give you the edge on those harder levels later on.
How to Customize Your Character
GuidesWe all know that creating a character that looks epic is really fun. A bonus is the Boulder Dash Deluxe allows you to give your character a kickass outfit. Here’s how to customize your character. In the main menu or level menu there is a floating bubble head icon at the top of the menu with three colored squares next to it. Click on this icon and you will enter the character customization menu.
You can do a number of things with your character, from changing the color of his helmet to making him look like a Punk Rock Star mixed with a knight. There are so many options. Edit your character then press the big green tick on the left to save them.
