Amanda Waller

Easter Eggs

This easter egg is dropped during Deadshot’s pre-battle banter between both Cyborg and Black Adam. This makes reference to the high-ranking official who assembled a team of deadly villains on death row, The Suicide Squad, to take them on black ops missions.

The Universe in General

Easter Eggs

Injustice 2 revolves around the various characters, storylines, and games that comprise the Injustice universe, and all of their interactions in the game are determined by fun and interesting details within the events within the universe. Even small details give the nod to games like NetherRealm, Mortal Kombat, and even the Super Mario Bros. If you’re not up to date with the Injustice Universe, this game is packed with spoilers if the player is paying close attention.

Cyrax Override

Easter Eggs

Within the Story Mode of the game, the player will watch Cyborg and Catwoman try to access the Brother Eye by sneaking into the Batcave. While approaching the machine, the defense systems are activated, but she manages to override the authorization code, LK-4D4, before it can attack. This is a codename for Mortal Kombat’s robotic fighter, Cyrax, and its variation in Mortal Kombat X.

Shazam is Dead

Easter Eggs

Shazam’s death is referenced directly during the pre-battle banter between Batman and Superman, Flash and Cyborg, and Blue Beetle and Superman.

Dick Grayson is Dead

Easter Eggs

The reference to Superman’s first year of his fall from grace, the first Robin, Dick Grayson, was murdered by Damian Wayne. The player will hear this referenced during the pre-battle banter between Batman and Robin. They speak about how BAtman cannot forgive Robin for the deaths he’s caused, in which Robin responds that he is Batman’s only son. Batman, however, quickly reinforced that Dick Grayson was his son too.

The God of Thunder

Easter Eggs

In an epic battle between Black Adam and the Joker, the player will notice a reference to Raiden from Mortal Kombat when the Joker says, “Meet another lightning guy?” to which Black Adams responds with, “With the bamboo hat? Yes”.

Mirror Master

Easter Eggs

Mirror Master is a criminal mentioned during the pre-battle banter between Captain Cold and Cheetah. This conversation referenced an episode in the Injustice comics when Mirror Master’s location was given up by Captain Cold when Mirror Master had kidnapped Superman’s parents in the alternate dimension to use them as collateral to convince Superman to stop fighting. When it became known to Superman’s enforcers that Captain Cold knew about the whereabouts of Superman’s parents, he was swiftly interrogated, and he gave up the information.

The Movie Marquee

Easter Eggs

In the background of many of the battles, there’s a movie theater where the player can use environmental attacks to smash their opponent into the ‘Now Showing’ Marquee. If the player does this enough, the marquee starts to say, “Finish Him.” This is a reference to Mortal Kombat’s end-match phrase.

The Second Blue Beetle

Easter Eggs

In a battle between Blue Beetle and Black Canary, the player will hear a direct reference to the second person to become the Blue Beetle when Black Canary thinks that he is Ted Kord and not Jamie Reyes, who is Injustice 2’s current Blue Beetle.

Suicide Squad

Easter Eggs

During the pre-battle banter between Deadshot and Harley Quinn, they directly mention The Suicide Squad, the team of highly-dangerous villains who were on death row organized to go on black ops missions, which they were both a part of.

Reference To Super Mario

Easter Eggs

Who doesn’t love a good Super Mario Bros. reference? In a battle between Supergirl and Brainiac, the player will hear Supergirl say to Brainiac, “your princess is in another castle,” which Nintendo fans will instantly recognize as a phrase from the first Super Mario Bros.

Injustice Tips for Beginners

Hints

Use Story Mode to Test the Roster
Using Story Mode is the easiest way to figure out which character is going to best suit your fighting style. Not all the characters are playable in the battles, but you will soon learn your preferences.

The Gear Stats Don’t Count Online
When playing in Injustice 2’s netcode, any gear or special buffs that the player would attain from the Story campaign, The Multiverse, or the Mother Box is removed to even the odds online. So get used to fighting without relying on certain buffs.

Don’t Waste Supermoves
With every character, there is a Supermove meter that allows you to use a Supermove unique to each fighter to use on their opponent. However, this move is dissipated when the character takes damage. To use this move to its optimum potential, if the player avoids escapes and just takes on the battle, they’ll be able to use up to two Supermoves and the best time to use these moves is when the player has knocked their opponent down to their second health bar.

Don’t Do Big Combos When The Opponent’s Armor is Low
The player needs to be careful when the opponent’s armor is low because if the total damage of the player’s move is greater than the armor remaining of the opponent’s health bar, then only what’s left will be deducted, and not the full blow of the combo. Be wise and pay attention to the moves the player needs to make without wasting.

Escapes are Vital but Pricey
There are a variety of special moves the player can access to escape from a brutal beating during the fights, but most of the time, these escapes will leave the player in a vulnerable position and open to another attack. These escapes will also cost one segment of the Meter Burn, so weigh up your need to use the escape carefully.

There are three Escapes:

  • Air Escape
  • Block Escape
  • Roll Escape

Some Clashes Are Worth Losing
There is a special feature in Injustice 2, just like its predecessor, that allows the player to be able to bet sections of their Meter to possibly win extra damage and health. This can only happen when both opponents have reached their second health bar, so the player needs to weigh up the options of whether it’s worth losing health in order to gain an opportunity to use a Supermove and deliver a powerful blow.

Canceling Combos Can Be A Good Thing
It sounds counterintuitive to stop dealing damage and cancel a combo, but in some cases, combos deliver less damage the longer they take. Although they look impressive, sometimes the player could be dealing more damage in more simple attacks. The player has approximately 30 to 40 frames to be able to cancel a combo (check the character moves list for exact times).

Use a WakeUp Attack to Surprise The Opponent
The WakeUp move is brilliant in online fights. This is a special counter-move that the player can only use when their character is lying on their back. Hold down the D/Left Analog stick to keep the opponent down and set up a WakeUp move.

Use the Multiverse to Mine For Gear
The Multiverse has challenges, very similar to the Mortal Kombat ladder, consisting of lists of opponents to defeat. The player needs to make sure the main character they used to fight with is at a high enough level to be able to compete. Rewards include extra gear, coins, and Mother Boxes.
