How the Battle System Works

As soon as you finish the opening cut scene, you’ll find yourself face to face with a corrupt force armed only with a way to summon a hero. If you want any chance at survival, you’ll have to learn how the game’s combat system works, and quickly. Fortunately, it’s very similar to other Tower Defense games.

When combat begins, you’ll see a red portal-like circle, which your enemies will start popping out of, and a blue crystal, which you will have to protect. You’ll need to do this by strategically deploying your heroes and using their abilities effectively. Their placement and the sequence in which you position them can play a pivotal role in your defense strategy.

Ultimately, the key to winning is safeguarding the crystal while enemies incessantly target it. Each successful attack reduces the count at the top of the screen, and when it drops to zero, you’ll lose the match. You’ll also lose (instantly) if a boss enemy reaches your crystal.

Position Your Heroes Well

The position of your heroes is one of the most crucial aspects of the game. When a battle begins, you’ll see icons representing each of your heroes in the bottom right corner of your screen. You can select the hero you want to deploy by holding down their icon and dragging it to a vacant position on the battlefield (they’ll be highlighted in green). However, keep in mind that this consumes resources, meaning you’ll need to strategize which heroes to place when.

When you place a hero, you’ll also need to decide which direction you want them to face. Each has an attack range that is illustrated by a red box that appears while you’re picking their position. Make sure that when you put your heroes down, enemies will travel through this area of attack by taking note of your enemies’ path. Your enemies’ path from the spawn portal to your crystal is highlighted in red, so make sure you use it to your advantage.

How the Different Abilities Work

Each of your heroes has two bars hovering over their heads once you place them on the battlefield. The red bar represents your hero’s health (they are defeated once this bar is fully depleted), but the blue bar is a little different.

As your heroes perform different actions, the blue bar will gradually fill up. Once it is completely full, you can trigger a special ability. Heroes’ abilities range from actions that inflict severe damage to ones that provide buffs or healing to nearby allies. Activating the special ability is different for each hero. Some will set off automatically, and others need to be activated manually.

You can learn about your heroes’ abilities by tapping on them during battle. If the word “auto” is written beneath their ability, it will activate on its own; however, if “auto” is absent, you have to activate it manually by tapping the hero.

How to Handle Enemies

This game provides an array of different enemies for you to confront. Most are the usual undead creatures, but occasionally, you’ll encounter enemies that will take a few more tactical decisions to deal with. For example, some enemies will climb over platforms to reach the crystal, while others will use shields to protect their allies and mitigate any damage you’re trying to deal.

These are annoying and can be dealt with relatively easily if you place your heroes well. However, the enemies that will demand all your attention are the bosses, who you can tell are entering the playing field by the appearance of a large red health bar at the top of your screen. Bosses take some effort to knock down and have unique abilities that demand a level of preparedness to ensure victory.

How to Create Synergy Among Your Heroes

Every hero in the game has their own strengths and weaknesses. To ensure victory in matches, you need to make sure you maximize their potential, and you can only do that by experimenting with different combinations to identify the most effective strategies. For example, a tank melee hero could block the enemy’s path while a healer restores the tank’s health from a platform.

How to Progress Through the Game Quickly

Подсказки

  1. Develop a core team of five by collecting heroes for each role. Try to start with 2 Mages, 2 Marksmen, and 1 Healer to avoid any difficulties while farming Insignia from the Promotion Raid; then, you can focus on the Defender and Fighter heroes.
  2. Complete the Campaign stages as fast as possible to unlock Gold and EXP Dungeons so you can farm resources from those dungeons. Higher difficulty Gold and EXP dungeons provide higher reward amounts for the energy you spend.
  3. Complete the storyline quest before doing your daily tasks to avoid getting stuck due to a lack of energy.

The Best Gear for Damage Dealers, Defenders, and Healers at Different Stages in the Game

Руководства

Damage Dealers (DPS)

These are your primary offensive forces, including marksmen, mages, and fighters.

  • Early-Game Gear - In the early game, Damage Dealers’ main object is to inflict as much damage as possible. You should collect gear with these stats:
    • Attack (Main Stat) - This should be your primary focus. Blue (rare) and purple (epic) armor is ideal in the beginning as they grant you a flat attack stat.
    • Attack Bonus (Sub-stat) - Sub-stats are less important, but you can try looking for gear with an attack bonus, as they will enhance your damage output.
  • Mid-Game Gear - This is when DPS heroes start to shine. Focus on:
    • Critical Rate - Aim for a 90% to 100% chance for a critical hit
    • Critical Damage - Once your chance to hit is high enough, you can prioritize the amount of damage you can deal.
    • Gear Sets - Tailor your gear sets to your heroes’ strength to make the most out of them:
      • Hawkeye Set - perfect for damage.
      • Stick Set - perfect for mages as it provides a 15% damage boost to AoE spells.
      • Doom Set - perfect for single-target DPS heroes.
      • Agility Set - perfect for heroes who rely on quick attacks. This set can be a game-changer.
  • Late-Game Gear - Tune your DPS heroes to deliver maximum damage. Focus on:
    • Critical Chance - Keep between 90% and 100%. To prevent excessive investment, focus on gear that offers substantial critical chance sub-stats.
    • Critical Damage - Keep at 150% while balancing with attack (150% to 200%).
Defenders

Defenders are usually positioned on the front lines of your team and absorb enemy attacks to protect your squad.

  • Early-Game Gear - In the early game, your main objective when it comes to Defenders should be keeping them alive. You should collect gear with these stats.
    • Health (Main Stat) - This should be your primary focus. Equip them with gear that has flat HP as its primary stat. This will significantly enhance their durability.
    • HP Bonus (Sub-stat) - enhances tankiness
    • Defense (Sub-stat) - enhances tankiness
  • Sub-stats are less influential than primary stats, so focus more on accumulating as much HP as possible.
  • Mid- and Late-Game Gear - Focus on:
    • Gear Sets - sets like Glacier provide additional attacks, making Defenders more versatile on the battlefield.
    • Sub-stats - Rage Regen Efficiency and Rage Regen can improve your defenders' utility and crowd-control abilities.
Healers

Healers serve as the backbone of your team, ensuring your heroes stay alive to continue the battle, but not all healers have equal capabilities. Your gear selection should align with your healer’s scaling.

  • Early-Game Gear - Some healers scale with attack, and others HP. Examine your healer’s skills to determine their scaling and, therefore, their gear.
    • Gear Priority if Healer scales with Attack:
      • Attack (main stat)
      • Healing Effect (sub-stat)
    • Gear Priority if Healers scales with HP:
      • HP (main stat)
      • Healing Effect (sub-stat)
  • Don’t fixate on crit rate and crit damage for healers.
  • Mid- and Late-Game Gear - Focus On:
    • Healing Effect - Top priority. Ensure your healer’s gear prioritizes this stat to enhance their restorative abilities.
    • Sub-stats: Rage Regen Efficiency and Rage Regen allow your healers to support your team more effectively.
