Easter Eggs Hidden Throughout the Game

Easter Eggs

Fromsoft has developed some fantastic games

The Moonlight Greatsword

This is one of Fromsoft’s most iconic weapons and features in many of their games, so it makes sense it would be in this one, too. While its style matches the futuristic style of the game, rather than keeping the classic hilt and blade look, it’s still the beloved Moonlight Greatsword.

Not only has it kept the name, but its color and attack patterns are the same as those that came before it, shooting off a powerful beam of blue light while you take out the enemies around you.

The Boss Fake-out Death

In many Fromsoft games, there’s always one Boss that appears to have been taken out, drawing you into a false sense of security before rising for round two, coming at you far more aggressively than before.

CEL 240 is a mid-way boss that is an excellent example of this. After you gun her down, there’s a brief pause before she rises and begins her second bought of attacks, becoming far more erratic this time and proving to be one of the more challenging bosses in the game.

Pin Wheel Enemies

As you travel through the world, you’ll encounter various enemies, though none are more irritating than the automatic, bladed wheels. They’re speedy, can only be taken out from the side, and are a regular occurrence in Fromsoft Games.

Their most memorable and least fun rendition is the infamous Bone Wheels in the Dark Souls series.

Alternate Endings

As with most of Fromsoft’s games, this one features three endings: the good ending, the bad ending, and the true ending. This game differs because it also has three different bosses for you to fight based on which ending you get—even more reason to go back and try to play through all the endings.

A Boss that Can Only be Defeated by One Weapon

It isn’t a Fromsoft game without a boss that you can only defeat with a particular weapon. Dark Souls 3 had Yhorm the Giant, and Elden Ring had Rykard. It’s only fair that this game has its own version of such a monster, and that honor belongs to the Ice Worm.

Starting as an Underdog

The game starts you off as an independent mercenary who crashes on the planet Rubicon and has to complete various tasks before people start to notice you. This plays out similarly to previous Fromsoft Games, in which you start at the bottom and have to build your way up to the point that you are literally reshaping the universe as people know it.

How to Get Every Ending

Guides

The Liberator of Rubicon

As you progress through the game, Ayre often asks you to save her “brother and sisters,” revealing Coral's potential when joined with humanity. You will want to accept missions from her specifically and assist the RLF whenever possible.

During Chapter 3/4, Ayre or the RLF will assign the following Decision Missions to you:

  • Prevent Corporate Salvage of New Tech - Chapter 3
  • Destroy the Special Forces Craft - Chapter 3
  • Ambush the Vespers - Chapter 4

Then, towards the end of the campaign, you’ll need to choose between two Decision Missions that carry far greater consequences for you than any you’ve previously encountered:

  • Intercept the Corporate Forces
  • Eliminate “Cinder” Clara

Choose Eliminate “Cinder” Clara to prevent Clara’s plan to destroy the Coral Convergence. Once you’ve defeated Clara, you’ll receive two final missions in which you must take out the Xylem’s engines to prevent it from ramming into the Convergence, then face off against Handler Walter in an AC.

Once you’ve defeated Walter, the Xylem will crash into Rubicon, saving the Coral and bringing about a future where they can co-exist with humanity.

The Fires of Raven

To achieve this ending, you’ll just need to ignore any Mission Decision specific to Ayre and the RLF (or all that you can) and focus on those assigned by Handler Walter or Cinder Carla:

  • Tunnel Sabotage - Chapter 3
  • Eliminate the Enforcement Squads - Chapter 3
  • Intercept the Redguns - Chapter 4

When presented with the Decision Missions towards the end of the campaign, you should pick Intercept the Corporate Forces. This will lead to several missions, including:

  • Breach and Kármán Line
  • Shut Down the Closure Satellites

During these missions, you’ll have to fly through a stream of energy that’ll grant you unlimited flight capabilities as you destroy a fleet of Arquebus Interceptor ships,  guide the Xylem on a collision course to the Coral Converge and finally fight against Arye in an AC, the only thing preventing you from completing your mission.

Once you’ve defeated Ayre, the Xylem will crash into the Convergence, resulting in a massive explosion that sets Rubicon aflame and leaves it as a permanently dead planet.

Alea lacta Est

This is the game's true ending; however, you cannot complete it until you gain access to New Game++, meaning you’ll have to play through the game thrice. During a New Game+ playthrough, you’ll gain access to Analysis encounters, and ALLMIND will be learning from your tests.

This mechanic continues in New Game++, which brings a whole new player into the game. A new mission will appear (‘Obstruct the Mandatory Inspection’ in Chapter 1 and ‘Coral Export Denial’ in Chapter 3), and various changes will have been made to standard missions:

  • In Chapter 1, there’ll be an ‘Escort the Weaponized Mining Ship’ option opposite the ‘Destroy the Weaponized Mining Ship’ option.
  • During the ‘Attack the Watchpoint’ mission, the Sulla fight is augmented, and there are additional enemies to fight.
  • In Chapter 3, the helicopter at the end of ‘Survey the Uninhabited Floating City’ is replaced by an RLF AC, Thumb Dolmayan.

Before you face the Ice Worm (near the end of Chapter 3), ALLMIND will start spending direct mission requests. Moving forward, you’ll want to choose every ALLMIND-centric mission that comes your way, including:

  • The Decision Mission Eliminate V.III in Chapter 4
  • Reach the Coral Convergence in Chapter 4.

The conclusion of Reach the Coral Convergence will be different in that you won’t be incapacitated and will have to escape in the not-exactly-functioning mech. Then, a brand new mission titled MIA will appear.

Completing this mission will lead to ‘Regain Control of the Xylem.’ You’ll have to destroy the parasite modules within the Xylem’s hold and prevent the lockout process from completing. This will result in the final mission, ‘Coral Release.’

You’ll face off against the ALLMIND during this mission in a two-phase boss fight. Once you’ve defeated him, the Coral Release will begin, and a black hole will appear and start sucking in the Coral and spreading them across the universe. You’ll reactivate your mech alongside various others, and Ayre will explain that they’re now everywhere.
