Yesterday, rumors started circulating about a project called Metro: Redux, a collection containing the post-apocalyptic games Metro: 2033 and Metro: Last Light, remastered for the Xbox One and PS4. These rumors began due to two leaked images, which showed that Metro: Redux would include both games, their soundtracks, artwork, and special packaging.

Deep Silver responded to the leaks, confirming the existence of Metro: Redux. The leaked images are out of date, and we won’t get to see any footage right now, but we should hear an official announcement before E3!

This is great, not only that the Metro games are coming to the next generation consoles, but also that Deep Silver was willing to admit it rather than dance around the topic until it was time for the announcement. In fact, the response even takes that into account: “We could issue a ‘We do not comment on rumour and speculation’ statement and pretend this never happened. They’re pretty boring to read. They’re also pretty boring to write.” Good show, Deep Silver, good show.

Have you played either of the Metro games, and are you looking forward to seeing them in a new form?
