Ever wondered how much your old Nintendo 64, NeoGeo, Sega Master System or even Intellivision would have cost in today’s dollars, and how that might compare to the latest generation of consoles – the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U?

Well wonder no longer because Auir2blaze of reddit has created the handy infographic that you can see embedded above. Interesting to note that both the Nintendo 64 and Sega Dreamcast came in with the best value and arguably had a lot of good quality titles. Virtua Tennis was a stand out for me on the Dreamcast as was Goldeneye 007 on the N64.

Take it back a couple of decades though to 1979 and you would be paying the equivalent of nearly $1,000 ($935) for the Intellivision… We think that both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One fit in quite nicely at their respective pricing points ($400 and $500).

How do you feel about the change (or not) in prices over the years? What consoles on the list have you owned?
