What the Future May Hold: Rumored Titles

Fans love to speculate on future video game announcements, especially if it’s related to a series they love. We’ve heard a lot of rumors lately, from the return of Crash Bandicoot to a true release date for The Last Guardian, but now we’ve got some of the most popular rumors to share with you.

First, a lot of players believe a sequel to Dishonored will be announced at this year’s E3 in June. Not only was Dishonored such a successful title that it makes sense for Bethesda to make a sequel, but a “Dishonored II” image recently appeared on the Internet, supposedly leaked from an event. It could be a fake, but fans of the first game are hopeful a sequel is coming.

But while Dishonored II is one you might expect, this next title would be a pleasant surprise. The Official Xbox Magazine claims Capcom is currently in the process of rebooting their survival horror series Dino Crisis. Dino Crisis first came out in 1999, and had two sequels. The last one came out in 2003, so it’s been a while since we heard from this series. Survival horror fans can only hope that if they do reboot it, it returns to the series’ roots, rather than becoming an action/shooter title.

The most mysterious rumored title is Rise of Incarnates, a name trademarked by Namco Bandai in February. The name suggests a new IP…and that’s really all we know about it.

Meanwhile, the Editor in Chief of Famitsu, Katsuhiko Hayashi, said many Japanese developers “have started to work on PS4 exclusive games.” A statement from Hayashi may not be an official announcement, but considering his strong position in the industry and his connections with developers, it has a lot more credibility than most rumors.

The game “of massive significance” set to appear on OPM’s cover turned out to just be Batman: Arkham Knight. When Arkham Knight was announced, we suspected that might be the big story, but it’s still a little disappointing to see that there isn’t another big secret about to be revealed.
