Reddit, Neogaf, Twitter, Facebook and just about everything else gaming discussion related is blowing up today after Mark Rubin (Executive Producer at game developer’s Infinity Ward) confirmed that Call of Duty: Ghosts will run at 1080p on the Playstation 4 natively while the Xbox One version of the game will actually be upscaled from 720p to 1080p. Both systems will run the game at 60 FPS.

Rubin’s shortened Twitter post is embedded above, but here’s the full version:

Hey, been on the road last couple weeks so haven’t had a chance to update, but wanted to confirm that for Xbox One we’re 1080p upscaled from 720p. And, we’re native 1080p on PS4. We optimized each console to hit 60 FPS and the game looks great on both. Still on the road, but glad to see the great reception to Extinction. Can’t wait for next week’s launch.

This obviously isn’t good news for Xbox One fans, with many blaming the lack of native 1080p on lack of time to properly optimize the game for the X1/other programming difficulties/learning curves. PS4 fanboys are obviously laughing.

Could this effect your decision to purchase an Xbox One?
