Manage your soup well

Hints

In Everdale, the so-called currency that keeps your villagers working is soup. While you are playing, you will see villages moving back and forth from their current job to the kitchen to have some soup.

If the villagers don’t get soup, they will stop working. If you want to progress faster, you need your workforce to work. So keep their bellies full. A good suggestion would be to plant pumpkin patches according to your population.

For every two villages, plant one pumpkin patch. Another good tip is to always have resources such as mushrooms, eggs, and berries. These will save you if you need to make more soup instantly.

Always make sure your storage is upgraded

Hints

With most games, as you progress and level up, you start requiring more gold or produce to build and upgrade items. That is why it is super important that you research and upgrade your storage whenever you can.

Another reason is if you have small storage, they will fill up to fast. If you go offline for long periods, this will stunt your growth.

When storages are full, villages stop working. As a bonus, if you have more than one storage building, you can move it closer to current build projects to reduce the build time.

Keep your villages busy

Hints

Similar to other games, Everdale runs in the background. So you might not be actively playing, but you can set your villages to do tasks. If you are going to be offline for a while, give your village a long task to do.

This will ensure that at all times, your village is progressing and improving.

In this video, you can find 3 great tips to help you progress quickly in the game.

What is the best use for Gems?

Hints

In Everdale, gems are rare and valuable. Learning to use them wisely will help you progress well in the game. Gems are the premium currency in the game and can often be bought or received as a reward.

You can use gems for needed materials or buy items that can only be bought with gems. Here are some things players can buy with gems:

  • Villager skins/outfits
  • Resources
  • Decorations
  • An extra Villanger
  • potions

If we look at what we can use our gems for, we can see that decorating your village or buying skins is solely for visually stimulating reasons. If your goal is to progress fast and have a Utopia, skins and decorations should be last on your list.

Potions also wouldn’t be a good use for gems. They use limited materials to brew and only affect the villager you select. Using gems to gain more resources or to get an extra builder is the wiser decision.

Which of the two to choose comes down to what you want to do, though. Using 60 gems can get you enough nectar to boost your villager's speed x3. So you could first use your gems to get an extra builder and then boost the overall speed of all villagers.

This video helps you use gems wisely and not spend them on things that can be bought with a little saving.

Some quick tips to help you succeed

Hints

Here are some quick tips from people who have been playing the game for a while:

  • Collecting from limited resources is much faster
  • Avoid joining a high-level Valley.
  • Research scrolls are a must
  • Never stop researching and upgrading
  • Only brew 3-star potions

When you collect from limited resources, your villager's collection rate is 50% faster, instead of collecting from the evergrove try collecting from trees.

Joining higher-level valleys will put you in a tough spot. You won't be able to complete certain tasks because of your level, and this will harm your reputation. Using research scrolls helps you research items faster. This boost your progress, so use them whenever you can.

Keep researching. Set aside a villager and keep them focused on research. Research helps improve the rate at which you do other activities such as trading, collecting, and building. The more you research, the more productive your village will be.

Using level one potions might be necessary when you are at a low level. But they become redundant when you unlock level three potions. In comparison, level three potions provide a larger boost to the villager and have a similar cost to level one potions. It's an obvious choice.

How to use Potions

Guides

If you have ever used potions in any game, you know that they are used to benefit either a character or a process in the game. In our case, potions can be used in villages by villagers to increase proficiency in collecting resources or building.

To use potions on villagers, you have to click on the villager first before the option is shown.

  • Click on the villager
  • Open potions menu
  • Choose a potion

You can brew potions at the potion maker, but special resources are required, such as acorns or moss, to do so. You can get these special resources from Otto's tasks or rewards. Keep in mind that potions will only be active on the villager you choose.

This video gives you some great tips to help you use potions well.

How to change characters' names

Guides

A pretty cool feature of the game is that you can customize the names of your villagers.  When you get villagers in the game, they are given random names which you might not like. As you progress in the game and grow, the number of villagers and homes you have can change their names.

This process isn’t advertised, though. Here is how to do it:

  • Go to the villager dashboard.
  • Select a Villager and click on their name.
  • Click on the three dots next to the name.
  • Type their new name and press enter

There you go. You have officially customized your villager's name. You can do this in your whole village.

This video shows us how to customize the names of our villagers.
